I am working on a Digital Alpha station 500/333 Console, version
4.0.F.My problem was that when I tried to boot it stopped at 'ypbind
daemon started'.
I did a ^C and it continued to boot and again stopped at 'STMP mail
server started'.I did ^C again a couple of times after which it asked
me my login and password.However,it still does not start the X-
windows/CDE screen.
