SUMMARY: TZ89 Firmware Update

Hello all,

The main issue of updating tape drive firmware was using the tape method.
No matter how I tried it, it didn't work. Write Protecting the tape after
the image written, changing from the DLT IV to a DLT III failed, changing to
all types of uncompressed densities all failed.

What did work was the SCU method of firmware updates.

1) On the tape drive, hold the unload button until the write protect button
flashes, quickly press the unload button again so that write protect and
tape in use flash.
2) # scu -f /dev/rmt0h (run SCU with the tape drive device)
3) scu> sh device (verify the correct device has been
selected)
4) scu> download TZ89_V97_DEC.IMAGE save
5) After it was finished and exited from scu, I performed a hard reset of
it.

Also, note that the name of the firmware image had changed. The original
file given to me by the field engineer was the wrong one. The
TZ89_V97_DEC.IMAGE was the correct image and even though their byte size was
the same, they were quite different images.

Thanks to all who offered their advice!!

Damien.
