Hello admins,
Lawrence, Philip hit the nail:
I have recently seen a problem with rpm core dumping while automount was in
use. Very odd, I know. Could you temporarily
stop automount to see if that works around the rpm core dump.
That was it (I am running autofs)

Hello admins,
I tried to install the freeware which comes with V5.1a. Any attempt to use
the rpm
(after /mnt/SETUP/RPM-init.ksh) in installmode ends up in a core dump. A:
trace rpm -Uv some-package.rpm
showed me that it cannot put the macros into memory ( and if I remove the
/var/local/lib/rpm/macros as well as the /etc/rpm/macros)
it doesn´t dump but then it won´t install properly.
Has anyone similar experiences?
Best regards,
Rudi Gabler
