ANSWER:

Not actually resolved yet,
Bob provided a link to RPM file on his site:
http://www.aster.si/download/tru64/,
and Paul reported no problems compiling with 5.1a (making sure to use cc
instead of gcc).

Will be trying a different tack tomorrow, or working with the rpm.

QUESTION:

I am trying to upgrade our samba from 2.2.0 to 2.2.5 (2.2.0 doesn't seem to
work properly with our w2k clients).

Has anyone successfully compiled this version on tru64 5.1? Were there any
changes you needed to do before running the make, or specific options you
needed to include with the configure for tru64?

The errors I am getting when I try running the make file are now all in
lanman.c . The first make attempt, I was getting an error on missing
popt.h, which I copied from our /usr/local/include directory to the source's
include directory (which I don't think I should have needed to do).

I have already checked for the "HAVE_IMMEDIATE_STRUCTURES" thing and it is
/* undef ... */ rather than DEFINE ... in the config.h file.

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can find previous versions of Samba?
I see from this lists archives that 2.2.3 compiled properly, and that would
hopefully solve our w2k connection problems even if it wasn't the latest
version. I can't find previous sambas on their website though.
