Fellow Sysadmins,
We have a V5.1 cluster. The storage attached is 12 pairs of HSG80s. Recently we added some more units/luns out on all these controllers. Unfortunately, in some of the controller pairs (Let's refer to them as A & B) , one of the controllers i.e The A controller is now serving majority of the units/luns which is causing a performance problem. I know that this imbalance can be corrected by making sure that the PREFERRED_PATH variable is set to the "correct" controller. Either A or B according to preference. But for that I would need to restart/reset all my controllers and I don't want to have to take an outage to sort this situation out.
Do I have any other options? Isn't there a way using "hwmgr" where I can select which controller serves me a particular unit/lun?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!
