I got no reply to that but meanwhile I found a workaround. I wraped the
lines
/usr/internet/ldap_tools/ldap_disable 0
/usr/internet/ldap_tools/ldap_enable 0
around the slapd-start script. This worked for me.

Betreff: iPlanet directory server 4.15 + ldap auth problem

Hi netters,

I'm running Internet express 5.7. Whenever I install ldap authentication and
restarts after that action the
ns-slapd (caa_relocate slapd in our cluster; not the admin process) dumps
independent of
running as nobody (default) or as root. Removing ldap-auth-modules (ldapcd)
then everything works again.
This behavior is after a fresh install without any further setups
(accounts...).
Any hints?

Regards,

Rudi Gabler
