Dear Admins and Managers,
I am using Tru64 5.1 (patch-kit 4) on Compaq GS 160 server. I am using IBM
ESS shark for the SAN involvment.
I have one sever problem on Oracle which is running on this environment.
The document attached below is gathered from Oracle Metalink site. Can you
pls advice me what to do?

cause: Oracle processes sharing a region of memory. During the shutdown of
the database while one process is doing an i/o, another decides it has
finished with memory region and fails to detach as it is wired by this
other
process.

Workaround:
Set UNIX Kernel parameter new-wire-method=0
1. Static mode as root:
Edit "/etc/sysconfigtab", set new-wire-method=0 and reboot the
system.
OR
2. Apply Compaq fix in patch kit 3

Since my patch level is 4, I just focused on changing the kernel parameter
"new-wire-method = 0". Yes I did it but it didnt solve my problem.
(Actually in some Compaq web pages they do not advice to set the
"new-wire-method=0" , but still I did it because of the Metalink document).
Now I have changed the kernel parameter to the original one (that is
enabled)
CAN YOU PLS SUGGEST WHAT TO DO?
