Dr. Th. Blinn pointed out to use the dxpower tool. But calling dxpower
results in a window popping up stating that 'power
management is not supported on this system' (LX164).

If I type 'xset -q' to get the current settings the following shows up:

DPMS (Energy Star):
  Standby: 60 Suspend: 60 Off: 60
  DPMS is disabled

Nevertheless the screen is turned off after 60 seconds.

HELP!!!

Peter

----Original message ----
Hi managers,

I'm using 5.1A with patch kit 2. The problem is the following:

Always after one minute the signal from the graphics card is switched
off (like powersaving). The graphics card is an 3Dlabs Oxygene VX1 and
I'm using CDE. Before installing the patch kit I deactivated DPMS with
the switch -dpms in /usr/dt/conf/Xservers which worked well. But after
installing the patches the problem is back though 'ps uax | grep X'
still shows "/usr/bin/X11/X :0 -screen0 1280x1024 -depth 24 -dpms -auth
/var/dt/authdir/authfiles/A:0-aaamsa"

Any ideas?

BTW how can I install the package OSFMANWOS520? I always get the
following error message and I cannot find a file named OSFMANWOS520
anywhere on the CD:

# setld -D /cdrom/ALPHA/BASE -l OSFMANWOS520
Cannot create usr.
usr: Read-only file system
setld: Cannot create directory
usr/var/cluster/members/member0/adm/smlogs
setld: error in Dirs()

Thanks in advance!

Peter
