SUMMARY: Usernames greater than 8 characters

My thanks to the many responses to my posting. It seems that even though
there are work-arounds to enable usernames of greater than 8 characters, the
majority of responses strongly recommended against it. Citing problems with
truncating the user names when using FTP and ls -l commands among others...
Although it's a little late for a us, the next domain I set up may contain
usernames of 8 characters just for compatibilty sake.
