Hi managers,
Following the failure of *another* of our 36GB, 15k disks (3 of 12 failed
within a month) I've just received the following from HP which confirms
problems with those drives:
"A problem within the HDD build process was found to effect a limited
quantity of BF03665223 disk drives built prior to June, 2002. Peripheral
Device Write Faults (01/03/00) are symptomatic of this problem. drives
experiencing PDWF's should be replaced through the normal logistics
process. Logistics supply has been purged of effected devices. Drives of
this model which are returned through logistics will be screened for this
problem."
Might be worth checking out your model numbers ...

It would appear that one of our brand new disks is probably failing.
A replacement is currently on route, which hopefully sort things out ...
Worringly though this is the second failed 36GB 15k RPM disk in the last
month. Have we just been unlucky ?

We've just migrated our system onto a HSG80, and are seeing multiple
errors as follows being reported on the HSG80 console.
Everything appears to be working OK, however the large number of these
errors, one every few seconds, is concerning.
Can anyone let me know what they mean...
