SUMMARY: Oracle-Tru64 direct I/O

Thanks for the feedback. I applied the Oracle patch (very easy and quick
patch). The init.ora file has DISK_ASYNCH_IO=true by default. That was it.
It was that easy. Oh, also, if you are running 5.1 you need to be on at
least PK3. I could imediatly see direct i/o as monitored by cfsstat.

--------------------

Has anyone made an older version (pre 8.1.7) of Oracle "direct i/o"?

I am running a three node GS80 cluster with Oracle 8.0.6.2 and Oracle Apps
11.03 on Tru64 5.1 pk4. I would like to install the Oracle patch to enable
direct I/O, but I can not find any information on it from Oracle or Hpaq.
Does anybody know about an Oracle parameter acync_write =1 or
disk_async_io=true or any Tru64 changes that need to made to enable (or
tune) direct i/o?

TIA

Rich
