Compile problems with PGP-6.5.8 on Tru64 5.1a

Hope you all can help. I have been trying for several months to get pgp 6.5.8 to compile on tru64 version 5.1a with no success. I believe I have met all the requirements with gm4, gmake, etc,etc. Do you know if this product will even work with tru64? All the docs, and all publications say that it doesn't. Please help if you can.
