Cluster Alias Issue:
This is a three node cluster consisting of two GS80s each with 4 cpus and
4GB of RAM, and a 2 cpu ES40. (Node names GS801, GS802, ES401)
This may be related to a general networking issue I'm having. I have
disabled all the cluster aliases that Oracle no longer uses. Oracle is now
tied to real hostnames. The only cluster alias we now want to use is the
default_alias. cluamgr -s all on GS801 and GS802 show a cluster alias of
gs801.advmkt.com, however the /etc/cluamgr_alias.config file has no such
entry. When I use "cluamgr -a alias=gs802.advmkt.com, leave" on 801 and
802, it is no longer joined. I then do a cluamgr -r start. However, when I
restart networking both members are joined again to the gs801.advmkt.com
alias. This alias does not show up in the cluamgr config file or in sysman.
This issue persists through a reboot. I cannot find any startup files
that call out for this, and I cannot see it join at boot time (or
/var/adm/messages). Wouldn't an alias have to be under aliasd's control,
and therefore in the above mentioned config file? In short, how is there a
cluster alias that doesn't show up in cluamgr_alias.config (and why should
there ever be a cluster alias that's a members hostname)?
