UPDATE:no network on 5.1a

I got several suggestion all seem useful.

first I need a correction in my original post,
the nic is a de500, not de200.

during boot it comes up 100full.

the suggestion are:
power off the system, then restart it from cold
pull out the 2nd NIC and see if the 1st one works.
set speed in inet.local
set speed to 10 simplex

I can't get to the system until Sunday when we have a window
for work on the productions system.
