UPDATE: Installing WEBES

Hi all,

Thanks to Peter Gergen, Dr. Thomas Blinn, Jim Cobabe, Richard Glazier for
there comments and theory behind setld. I believe I have found what is
wrong. Originally I had tried to do the install from my pc using nfs. This
is where I started to get the problems. After rebuilding my test server, I
tried loading webes on using the actual cdrom drive in the server. This has
worked and webes is now installed.

However I am still in the situation that on one of my live servers, I can
see the subset (just) but can not remove it in order to do a fresh install!

#setld -i webesbase400
setld: WEBESBASE400: Unknown subset

However a
#setld -i | grep -i webesbase400
webesbase400 post-load completed Compaq Web-Based Enterprise
Service Suite V4.0

And I can't delete the subset because it doens't know about it.

#setld -d webesbase400
setld: WEBESBASE400: not currently installed, cannot delete.
#setld -f -d webesbase400
setld: WEBESBASE400: not currently installed, cannot delete.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of it. It's not just a case of removing
the files in /usr/.smdb. as when you come round to installing it again it
says that it is still loaded. Is there somewhere else that the information
is kept?

Thanks in advance

Steve Copper

Original Post:

Hi All,

I am trying to load WEBES using the setld command but get the following
error during the installation.

This script installs the WEBES Core Components only.
Run the interactive post-installation update utility
to configure the system and to install the optional
  components:

    Compaq Analyze V4.0
    Compaq Crash Analysis Tool V4.0
    Revision Configuration Management (UniCensus) V4.4.7

The update utility's path and filename:

    /usr/sbin/webes_install_update

...making POST_L directories
...moving WCC files
...creating symbolic links
...creating the DESTA registry
...creating CDSLs
setld: WEBESBASE400: missing control program, cannot configure.

Doing a "# setld -i | grep -i webesbase400" gives the following output.
webesbase400 post-load completed Compaq Web-Based Enterprise
Service Suite V4.0

Can anyone point me to the missing control program or is there something
else going on here?

Thanks in advance,

Steve Copper
