Admins,
I have received several answers to this question, some have worked, others
have not. In short, eval has proved to be the answer. I have to finish
implementing the script (otherwise I may not get paid) before I can
summarize this properly. I will attempt all of the answers to see if they
work and publish the ones that work. Expect to hear from me tomorrow.

BTW.... One of the problems that has plagued my script is having a space
before an =.
example;
TEST =`echo "Hello"`
I hate when that happens
