Hi,

We are having 2 node ES40 cluster running Tru64 UNIX 5.1a, Compaq Cluster
5.1a. We are trying to
install oracle 9i (not 9iRAC) on each node. There is a directory
/vat/opt/oracle where oracle 9i writes
it inventory. When I install oracle from node 1 its is fine but when I am
trying to install oracle on the
other node the /var/opt/oracle directory is overwritten with the new
installation. In cluster 5.1a we
have a common /root and /var file system. In old TCR 1.6 we were having
separate /root file system
for each node in cluster In old TCR 1.6 I did not have this problem.

What I want to achieve is; install oracle on each node separately and using
CAA I want failover.
Is this possible with cluster 5.1a. If yes what is the procedure.
