Sendmail issues

I am have a problem sending a uuencoded file from unix.

if I send a regular message

mailx -s "test" dbrowett@city.coquitlam.bc.ca
test
ctrl-d

I get the following message in syslog

Apr 19 10:43:28 atlantis sendmail[7430]:
KAA0000010024:to=dbrowett@city.coquitlam.bc.ca, ctladdr=dbrowett (266/106),
delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00,
mailer=smtpr, relay=mx.city.coquitlam.bc.ca. [142.219.33.13], stat=Sent (OK)

But if I send a uuencoded file

mailx -s "test" dbrowett@city.coquitlam.bc.ca < uuencoded.file

I get the following message :

Apr 19 10:43:46 atlantis sendmail[10012]: KAA0000010012:
from=dbrowett,size=100028, class=0, pri=130028, nrcpts=1,
msgid=<200204191743.KAA0000010012@atlantis.private.coquitlam.bc.ca>,
relay=root@localhost

As you can see, the relay is localhost, and what is really strange is
"from=dbrowett"
where it should be dbrowett@city...... When I send the uuencoded file, It
truncates the city.coquitlam.bc.ca

I realize this is something in the sendmail.cf file, and I am currently
doing a RTFM, but there is a lot
of pages to read :(

Also, we have had an issue with our domain name expiring (it is now
resolved), so hopefully you will be able to reply to this email.

Thanks

Darren (Will summarize)
