Admins,

I received several responses to the question on remote administration with a
compaq ipaq.

Here are some:

Rowan Bailey writes,

I use a terminal emulator on my Ipaq and have successfully logged into my
TRU64 machine for admin. I would not say it was spectacular but it was
usable. I also have all my consoles on a terminal server so I can access
them from my Ipaq too.

JC Faul:

I've been looking at a product called PocketDBA to manage Oracle databases
on an iPAQ.
The company also have a tool called PocketSA for sys admins but I have no
info on that.
The web address is www.xb.com

Charlie Ballowe:

I had linux on my iPaq and was able to ssh to my Tru64 boxen
for administrative tasks. Was more than enough for me.

Telnet works fine provided you have Ethernet (cabled or wireless) access to
the network. This company provides Telnet software for Windows CE (i.e.
iPAQ).

Laura Winkelbauer:

The Tru64 UNIX SysMan Client foriPAQ Pocket PC is a complement to
the Tru64 UNIX suite of tools that allows you to manage Tru64 UNIX
systems from a wirelessly enabled iPaq Pocket PC.

<http://www.tru64unix.compaq.com/ipaq/index.html> - general info
Also Insight Manager 7 has a very limited little program that will let you
monitor the network from you iPaq.
Doesn't do much but it is still fun!!

So in summary, the answer is yes there are solutions for administering Tru64
with a Comaq iPAQ. With anyone has the time, I am interested in hearing
experience with running linux on the ipaq.
