NFS configured RW will only mount RO

We have a strange problem at the moment;
* Node2 shares a fileset using standard NFS simply configured by
entries in the /etc/exports file. The share is made available as a RW share
to Node1 and Node3.
        /home -rw=Node1:Node3 -access=Node1:Node3 -root=Node1:Node3
Node1 and Node3 are both in the DNS and the /etc/hosts file and the
numbers are consistent

* Node2 shares this mount successfully to Node1 and Node3.
* Up until 2 nights ago Node1 was successfully mounting the share from
Node2 and it was writeable.
* 2 Nights ago Node1 locked up the network software allowing only new
connections from the console. Existing telnet sessions were ok. NFS mount
was inaccessable.
* A rcinet restart successfully cleared the problem allowing the new
connections to be established and access to the NFS mounted fileset resumed.
(we thought)

Now it seems that since the network restart the NFS mounted drive is
READONLY. This despite stopping and restarting NFS on Node1. Unmounting and
remounting with rw to -o parameter of the mount command. The same share
mounted to Node3 is still working as a RW share.

Does anyone have any ideas or do we need to reboot Node1 to get it all
cleaned up?
