I've searched for days and have seen many people asking about large IDE
disks under Solaris, and some suggestions, but no difinitive answer.
I'm running the latest Solaris 8 (2/02) on an Ultra 10.
Latest OBP: Release 3.31 Version 0 created 2001/07/25 20:36
OBP 3.31.0 2001/07/25 20:36
POST 3.1.0 2000/06/27 13:56
Western Digital 120GB drive (WD1200JB)
No matter what I've tried I can't get the system to recognize
more than 32GB of this drive.
I have other similar systems recognizing 72GB IDE drives but this is
the first time I've tried 120GB. I read somewhere that (supposedly)
Solaris 8 will support IDE drives up to 128GB.
I've tried creating a custom drive entry but the system complains
that "Label says 232769664 blocks, Drive says 66055248 blocks"
and aborts when I try to newfs it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Duane
