memory initialize after POST on ultra 2

Hello,
after I Solved the SysIO U1001 problem installing latest OBP and POST
version now I don't have the error anymore on my ultra2,
anyway after a POST operation when the system comes back to graphic
console at boot time I have this message:

"initializing 1008 MB of memory from 0 to 677"

then it disappears after 4 or 5 seconds.

I Ask here shouldn't it be 1024 since I have 1GB RAM ??
is the above message normal?
