Console Screensaver

Can anyone point me in the right direction for enabling a screensaving/
blanking/power-off command/application for Solaris 8? I am NOT talking
about CDE. This is a server with a Sun monitor which will usually just
have the CLI console running, no X, no CDE.

Ideally, we'd like the monitor to be shut-off after 'n' minutes of
inactivity, but just blanking or a screensaver would do in a pinch.

While I'm at it, can anyone offer advice on how to make the CLI console
a little more usable? For example, multiple virtual terminals would be
so-o-o-o sweet. I've used "screen," but it has some problems. The
primary one being that console output comes to the terminal no matter
which virtual terminal you are in and then gets lost when you switch
ptys. Any l33t console drivers that make a Sun CLI console as sweet as
*BSD or Linux? (I've heard that i386 Solaris has (or had) support for
this. Don't understand why sparc doesn't.)
