I need to change my mtu to 1400 for tunneling reasons. This is ofcourse easily done with ifconfig.
However, when I have a nafo switchover, say from hme0 to qfe1, the default of 1500 is always implemented in the failover interface.
How can I set the default such that it is 1400 instead of 1500. I have tried changing mtu based on route, I have added mtu 1400 to the ifconfig command in the inetsvc file (this worked best as it was succseful for the first switch, but when it switched back to hme0 it reverted to 1500) and I have also tried editing the hostname.hme0/hostname.qfe0 files. I also looked at manipulation of the mss using ndd.
None have worked, after the nafo switch the new interface has an mtu size of 1500.
