Solaris Management Console

I have a Sun Blade 2000 running Solaris 8. When the system was originally
configured, one of
the partitions was not allocated enough space. It is not running Veritas
Volume Manager.
I tried using the Solaris Management Console to increase the size of the
specific partition
noting that there was significant unused space on the disk. Everything
seems to have
executed properly and in the Solaris Management Console it now says that
partition
is now the desired size, only when I execute the df command there appears to
be no
change. I even reboot the system but that did not help. Can anybody help
me to understand
what I might be doing wrong?
