Hello:
Three of the four Talaris printer are receiving this same message in
the lpstat output.
printer fnttal faulted printing fnttal-40301. enabled since Wed Apr 16
14:22:33
EDT 2003. available.
Printer not responding;Either warming up or needs attention
printer vmmctal faulted printing vmmctal-25917. enabled since Thu Apr
17 09:39:2
7 EDT 2003. available.
Printer not responding;Either warming up or needs attention
printer vmmctal2 faulted printing vmmctal2-25892. enabled since Thu Apr
17 09:12
:16 EDT 2003. available.
Printer not responding;Either warming up or needs attention
It looks like when you stop and restart printers they print for a while
but eventually printing stops again. We also have seen the following
error in the /var/spool/lp/logs/lpsched files on both servers.
04/17 10:09:07: printer fault. type: write root, status: c
msg: (Netpr: Cannot open connection to <fnttal>)
04/17 09:26:04: printer fault. type: write root, status: c
msg: (Netpr: Cannot open connection to <vmmctal>)
04/17 09:26:04: printer fault. type: write root, status: 14
msg: (exec exit fault)
Has anyone run across this (or something similar)? Any help is greatly
appreciated. I will summarize.
