resolved: unexpected reboots

Hi everyone,

Eventually the system produced some panics and we were able to determine the
source of the problems.
As many fellow managers pointed out, SUN had to replaced the CPU (and the
motherboard and memory sims as well).

No more reboots since then (friday afternoon) but I'd like to think this
issue
is finally resolved.

Thanks to everyone for your inputs.

Toni.

Asunto: unexpected reboots

I'm running a Solaris 8 (level 108528-15) on a SUN-Fire 280R unit.

I'm experiencing unexpected reboots of the machine with no apparent reason. I
openend a case with SUN support and they couldn't help.

The worst is that no trace of what's happening is registered anywhere. I mean
no dump, no crash file, nothing on /var/adm/messages, no intruders detected,
nothing.

I disregard as well a power supply problem, as is the only machine
experiencing
this problems.

Has anyone experienced something similar?? Did you find the cause and a
solution ??

Cheers,

Toni
