iostat shows old disk after disk replacement

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but google at least doesn't have the
answer...

I've replaced one of the internal disks in a 420R (Solaris 8, half of a
DiskSuite mirror) without rebooting it. It's working nicely, but iostat
-En still shows the old vendor name, serial number and, most importantly
the old number of hard errors.

As far as I can tell, there is no way of updating this information... I've
tried devfsadm -v, which doesn't report seeing anything new. The DiskSuite
manual says to reboot in order to replace the disk, but if that's the only
way, what's the point in having hot-swappable hardware?

Any thoughts? Will summarise.

Walter
