Hi Managers,

I need some information from you. We have 2 similar E450 running Sol 2.6 for production and DR environment. In production we take a cold backup of Oracle data file and application data file. Compressed backup file size is about 3gb. DR region needs to refreshed on a daily basis and we have 4hrs to do so. So far we are doing is put the backup file onto a DDS3 (internal on both E450)tape and drive to DR site (30 min drive) and starts the restore. Now our DR site is going to be moved 1000km away (tape will be couriered by air which takes extra 4hrs). Now we cannot assure the DR will be up in 4hrs. What is the best option available to achive this in 4 hrs?.
We are considering
1. NFS mount the DR and write directly to it, while writing to the tape. We need the tape also in the event of restore.
2. Send the 3gb file via a link (What is the size of the link????)
Have any of done this before? I need your inputs.
I will summarise.
Thanks
Unix Admin
