Greetings,
Does anyone know where the $PATH and $LD_LIBRARY_PATH get set in sun's
gnome2 enviroment? Basically, ive found that any programs I compile and
install in /usr/local cannot be found by a launcher in the gnome panel
(under applications, for example) and if I explicitly define
/usr/local/bin/[binary] then dependant libraries cannot be found.
Any ideas how to fix this? I have defined my own $PATH and
$LD_LIBRARY_PATH in my /etc/profile and my local user account's
.bash_profile. (I run bash). This does not fix the problem.
Thanks for your help!
Howard
