Network speeds and half/full duplex

Gurus,

While checking various machines network speeds and whether they were running
half/full duplex, I forgot a machine was an old SPARCstation5 running
Solaris 2.6 and using an le interface.

My question is why do the two ndd commands work using /dev/hme, also giving
results which suggest 100/full duplex. The network guys have also confirmed
that the switch port is running 10/half duplex.

# ifconfig -a
lo0: flags=849<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 8232
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000
le0: flags=863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        inet X.X.X.X netmask fffffc00 broadcast X.X.X.X
#
# ndd -get /dev/hme link_speed
1
# ndd -get /dev/hme link_mode
1
#

The machine is functioning correctly on the network, so this is a misnomer
rather than a serious problem.

Thanks for any ideas
Brendan
