Hey folks!
We are having a problem with one of our mirror metadevices (using
Sun's DiskTools). Below is the output from metastat.
% metastat d2
d2: Mirror
Submirror 0: d12
State: Needs maintenance
Submirror 1: d22
State: Needs maintenance
Pass: 1
Read option: roundrobin (default)
Write option: parallel (default)
Size: 15782688 blocks
d12: Submirror of d2
State: Needs maintenance
Invoke: metasync d2
Size: 15782688 blocks
Stripe 0:
Device Start Block Dbase State Hot Spare
c0t0d0s6 0 No Okay
d22: Submirror of d2
State: Needs maintenance
Invoke: after replacing "Maintenance" components:
metareplace d2 c0t1d0s6 <new device>
Size: 32745924 blocks
Stripe 0:
Device Start Block Dbase State Hot Spare
c0t1d0s6 0 No Last Erred
Even after searching the User Guide for troubleshooting info, I'm
still not clear on what needs to be done to fix this. Or which of the
submirrors has good data on it. We are working off this mirror and haven't
seen any issues from an operational standpoint although we haven't done
anything to specificially look for an error.
From the above metastat output and from the docs, it seems like it
might simply require a metasync to get d12 sync'ed up, then detaching and
reattaching d22 (pending any serious issues with d22) to get this cleared
up. Is that the correct way to fix this?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
---Larry
