Hello Managers.
I'm embaroused to even mention this, but I'm not sure where else to turn.
My manager is intent on using the new Micros**t UNIX Connectivity Kit's
NFS server on Windows 2000 in order to make it easier to transfer files
between Solaris and Win boxes, instead of using Samba. But I've hit a
wall. I don't have a Win32 machine so my manager installed the kit, and
has an NFS export. I can mount it under both Linux and Solaris, but:1) I get permission denied when I try to enter that directory as root,
even though the root-no-squash equivilent box is checked.2) Even when I entry the mount point as a non-root user I don't see any
files.
We're not trying to do any access control, we're not using a PC-NFS
setup, and we don't use NIS. Shouldn't I be able to have him export a
share and give full privs to that export and then I be able to use it?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I know next to nothing about
Win32... and generally, happily so.
benr.
