Hi Managers,

I asked:
I am tryin to setup a home network with Ultra10/Redhat8/Wn98se with a Linksys EZX5SSW 5 port switch. Switch is autosencing 10/100. After I have connected my Redhat8 and Ultra10 to the switch I try to ping from redhat to U10 or vice-versa and I get host unreachable. My Redhat eth0 is

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:BF:FF:C0:04
         inet addr:10.0.0.3 Bcast:10.0.0.15 Mask:255.255.255.240
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
         RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
         TX packets:49 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
         collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
         RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:2058 (2.0 Kb)
         Interrupt:5 Base address:0x9000

My U10 hme0 is
hme0: flags=1000843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST,IPv4> mtu 1500 index 2
       inet 10.0.0.2 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 10.255.255.255
       ether 8:0:20:9f:a:55
What I am doing wrong here?, Linksys manual says just to connect your systems to the switch. Please help me!!!!

Solution:
As suggested by all of you my netmask on Linux was out and also I noticed my U10 was at the OK prompt (when I unplugged the serial cable it dropped to the ok prompt - now I have disabled it).

Thanks for the help
