Upgrading disks/DiskSuite metadevices

        Hello,

We have a few servers with mirrored 9GB disks that we are trying to
replace with 18GB disks. These disks have /, /usr and swap partitions on
them and are mirrored using the DiskSuite tools.

If possible, I'd like to find a way to replace those 9GB disks with
the larger disks with as little down time as possible on the servers.

It seems logical that you should be able to swap out one of the 9GB
mirrored disks, wait for disksuite to resync the data to the larger disk,
then swap out the remaining 9GB and, voila, have two 18GB mirrored disks.

The only thing is that the disk sizes don't expand to use up the
extra disk space that is now available.

'growfs' seems to be made to handle this kind of situation (in fact
the DisSuite manuals seem to indicate that this
swap-one-at-a-time-then-growfs is the proper way to replace mirrored disks)
but apparently doesn't work with root, /usr or swap partitions!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this
limitation? Or am I stuck with taking the server and root drive off-line so
I can growfs it separately while it is not mounted as root, /usr, and swap?

        Thanks!

        ---Larry
