A1000 - bad controller?

I have attempted to attach an A1000 (bought used) to an Ultra 10 (Solaris 2.7
w/ all 7_Recommended patches, RM 6.1.1U2 with patch 106552-04.) I am using a
Sun Differential Ultra SCSI card with a Sun VHDC to HD68 cable and a Sun
Terminator.

After a boot -r, the /dev/rdsk/ symbolic links are not built so RM6 and all
included utilities can not find a controller. I've tried drvconfig and hot_add
with no success.

Using >probe-scsi-all at OBP, I can see the RAID controller at the target SCSI
id with 8 unconfigured LUNS.

My thought is that I have a bad controller as I've also tried resetting the
array (removed battery for 1 minute, reboot with 1 drive in 2,0).

Would I still see the RAID controller at OBP if the controller was bad? Any
other thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks,

Steve
