How do you force a Sun Ray 1 interface to 100/fdx?
Our environment is Sun hardware on a network that is made up of Cisco
switches and routers. We gave up on ethernet auto-negotiation between
these two vendors long ago and use ndd start scripts on all systems to
force Sun interfaces to 100/fdx as a matter of policy. We are playing with
Sun Ray thin clients for the first time and running into the same issues.
Because we don't know how to have the thin client appliance hard set
it's interface, it is defaulting to auto and usually negotiating to
100/half. That results in very poor performance on of the Sun Ray
appliance due to interface errors. We are not having problems getting
the Sun Ray server's nic hard set. If anyone knows how/where to make this
configuration change, I'd love to hear from him or her. Thanks a bunch.
