Dear Sun Managers,

I configured xntp in my Sun Box. When the Sun Box sync
time with the time server, the following message will
be logged in /var/adm/messages file.

Mar 25 18:16:59 prod xntpd[276]: time reset (step)
-0.202731 s
Mar 25 18:17:32 uta xntpd[267]: time reset (step)
6.751453 s
Mar 25 18:18:42 DB xntpd[693]: time reset (step)
-0.199967 s

(1) I want to know what does the time in second after
the time reset means?

(2) Why is there a negative in time reset and
sometimes it is positive? What is the actual meaning
for the -ve sign in sec and +ve sign in sec means?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Bong
