First of all, let me admit that this question should belong to bind-user
group. But I have found this group very active and responsive and I hope
that someone who has seen this problem in Solaris would be able to help me
quickly.
I have my sendmail server (v8.9x) which also has BIND (v4.9.4-P1) running on
Solaris 2.6 server. It has db.cache file which points to root servers. In
order to send/receive emails, this server uses its own DNS and does lookups
for unknown servers from root servers.
For some reasons, it is unable to do lookup on a particular host
(tvazteca.com.mx). I increased the debug level, and saw the following in the
log -

Its able to find the correct nameserver(aztecanet.tvazteca.com.mx) for the
host in question but never returns IP address of the host. This is causing
emails not to be delivered to that domain from us.
Has anyone seen this problem? I am thinking of upgrading BIND but would like
to solicit response from those who have experience in managing BIND in
Solaris environment. At present, upgrading OS is not an option for me.
