The general consensus is to do a fresh install if possible because :
- it's faster.
- you keep the hand on the entire process.
- you avoid junk being left over by the upgrade procedure.

Objet:	From Solaris 2.6 to 8 : Upgrade or Fresh Install
	I plan to move a server (E6500) from Solaris 2.6 to Solaris 8 (64
bits).
	What do you recommend :
-	Upgrade Solaris 2.6 using Sun upgrade procedure (with LU or simply
with the installation CD), then upgrade other software not supported under
Solaris 8 ?
-	Make a fresh install on a new disk, then install all other software
on it ?
My fear is that Sun upgrade could leave unnecessary files in various
directories or legacy config options (/etc/system or others).
So I'm more confident with a clean fresh install, but I'm open to
any advice.
	I will summarize.
