Somebody on our system has sent a mail with a 5Mb attachment to a large
group of people, who all POP over a limited frame-relay connection using
MsOutlook. This kills the frame-relay, not only for our sites, but for
everybody who uses the same connection.
I can find the message in the message stores and remove the attachment
(permission has been granted to do this), but when I edit the stored
message, it is no longer accessible to the client. Restoring the mailbox
does not help, but the message is still there including all hardlinks it
had before.
Any suggestions as to how to solve this? We don't want to remove the
entire message if we don't have to and beside the receiving group is
fairly large..
I tried the same with a simple ASCII message in my own mailbox and the
same thing happened. However, when I moved the message around between
IMAP folders (using Mozilla/Linux, was open before I started to edit the
message) the *edited* version appeared in the target folder, even though
I had restored the previous version and rebuilt my mailbox.
