Sorry for the late response.
Thanks to Greene, Wianecki, Bill, Pascal, Gurugunty, Joe F, Rich, Hichael
Morton, Allan West, & Santhakumar...

The question was:

Is there a way to change the machine type (that appears when you type uname
-a) i.e. SUNW,Ultra-80?
Possibly from the eeprom level?

Apparently there is no way to accomplish this....

If I get any more emails to the contrary I will summarize again!
