System A is our mail host running Iplanet mail server. (hostname: mailhost)
We have about 100 Solaris servers where we want any mail from these
servers to go directly to the mailhost. What we are seeing is the mail
is not being sent to the relay, instead each server is trying to look up
MX records for the mail it is trying to send. We have tried a lot of
things (yes RTFM) but for some reason it won't do what we want it to do.
Can someone help with a config entry, maybe, in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
that will do this? The systems are mixed Solaris 2.6 and 8. Both
exhibit the same behavior.
Basically, we want ALL mail generated by mail, mailx, sendmail, etc...
to be sent directly to the mail relay (mailhost) who then has the
responsibility of looking up MX records and such.
TIAWS
