Thanks to Alan Bradley, John Mitchell and Ryan Krenzischek who replied. The
answer is no! In the meantime we got the same answer from Sun (as had
John). Alan suggested using the "-T d" option to record date & time iostat
is run and compare results against the previous run. This is what we were
trying to avoid, but it looks like its the only way.

Cheers,

Jo

Subject: iostat counters - can u reset them

Hi,

We run health check scripts on our servers which use iostat to pick up any
hard or soft errors on disks, tape drives, etc. Once we've picked up the
errors and dealt with them, we want to clear down those counters (without
having to reboot) otherwise the scripts continue to report that we have
errors.

Any ideas please?

TIA - I will summarise
