Thanks to Rich, Glenn and Hicheal for responding to my question.

In conclusion, i have decided that "useradd" is no good :)) (i m gonna be
mobbed on this one ;) ).. Two ways to bypass the default security feature:-
a) write a script to do "useradd", followed by "passwd" and then use the
"expect" scripts to do the job
b) "useradd" followed by 'sed' on /etc/shadow to remove *LK* from newly
created account. Ofcourse, this poses a potential risk, but does the job i
want ;)

Regards

Subject: useradd question in Solaris8.0

Gurus,

I know i might sound stupid when i ask this question, but i cannot resist
asking....

In Solaris 8.0, is there a hidden "-" switch with useradd command, that
allows user accounts created with useradd to be automatically unlocked at
creation time??? because, by default, i observed that when a new account is
created with useradd,
/etc/shadow file shows *LK* in the entry for that user...

P.S. i think in linux there is a switch called -x (not too sure :( )

TIA
Maulik
