Moving file systems between disk groups (Sol 8/Veritas)

OK -- this one is my own dumb fault --

if you take a Veritas encapsulated file system, run a 'vxprint -g
[dg name] -hmQq [volname] > /tmp/<filename>' -- then you can remove
the volume, remove the disk from the disk group, and move the disk to
a new disk group (vxdg -d [dg name] rmdisk [volname];vxdg -d [new dg
name] adddisk [volname]; vxmake -g [new dg name] -d /tmp/<filename>)

done it dozens of times, and haven't ever had a problem...

now the more astute amongst you would realize that rebooting the system
between the remove and the re-add would remove my volume configuration
files....

guess what I did...

is there ANY way to get that volume configuration information off of
those disks now that I've lost the config file?

please?
