Solstice (Legato) Backup Index Inconsistencies

Before asking my question, does anyone know if the old Legato mailing
list still exists? Legato's site has no info about it.

I have inconsistences between my media and data indices in Solstice Backup
6.0. The "Volumes" window shows save sets I want to recover, but the
"Index" for the client shows nothing at all (though it does say the non-
existent index occupies a good deal of space). 'nsrck' reports successful
check of the client's index, and all the subdirectories are there in the
/nsr/index/client-name directory tree.

We've run 'scanner' with both '-i' and '-m' flags on a jukebox full of
tapes in the attempt to rebuild the indices, and all index checks say
they are clean.

We can browse the filesystem we want to recover, see the files, select them
for recovery, but then the server reports "volumes unknown" and nothing
can be recovered. All clients other than this particular one have normal
media and index listings, and files can be recovered.

Based on reading the man pages for 'scanner' and 'uasm' it appears you can
brute-force restore arbitrary save sets from a tape, but it would be nice to
get my indices back in synch.
