Dear Sunmanagers,
I am dealing with a "dev_seek error" occured during a root ufsdump process
and don't have any summary yet to share.
I was able to ufsdump the other volume manager mirrored filesystems rather
than root (/var and /opt) and finished cleanly. I strongly suspect of a
root filesystem corruption as I was suggested in one of the replies you
sent.
Now I'd like to count on you to perform two steps to:
1.- Correctly check the root filesystem. I.E. How to fsck a VXVM mirrored
root filesystem. I was thinking to boot from cdrom and fsck each partition
separately
2.- "What if ..." If I find too much corruption in the root filesystem? I
have a backup tape to perform a ufsrestore but, again, should I ufsrestore
each partition separately? Or should I first break the mirroring and then
resync the partitions?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
- Andres.
