Hi folks,
I have an Ultra 60 that needs to be able to at least read DVD+R/DVD+RW.
Now in the best world I would also be able to write to DVD+R/DVD+RW but I
don't think I am going to be able to do that based on posts that I have
seen. Most folks use cdrecord-ProDVD written by Joerg Schilling and Joerg
does not support the DVD+R/DVD+RW format.
Having read the excellent summary posted by David Foster
http://www.sunmanagers.org/pipermail/sunmanagers/2002-August/015934.html
I know that I can at least write to DVD-R/RW on an Ultra60 using a
Pioneer A04 drive. Unfortunately, that drive does not read DVD+R/RW.
My question(s) come down to this:
Is anyone using a DVD drive that can write DVD-R/RW and read DVD+R/RW?
Short of that, I can use David's solution to write my DVD-R/RW disks and
use a separate drive to read DVD+R/RW. In that case, does anyone recommend
a drive that can read DVD+R/RW? Does the DVD-ROM drive that comes with the
Ultra 60 (part #X6168A) read DVD+R/RW discs?
All of this under Solaris 8.
TIA
Tim Carlson
