Hi

I have an ultra 30 with the built in Ultra Wide SCSI port. I have an
Ultra320 SCSI external drive that I would like to use on this system. When I
try to boot with this drive attached and I do a boot -r it ends up timing
out and not seeing the drive when the system does finally boot??

FROM DMESG:
Feb 6 08:41:40 system scsi: [ID 365881 kern.info] /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3 (glm0):
Feb 6 08:41:40 system Rev. 3 Symbios 53c875 found.

Then If I try the format command:
 # format
Searching for disks...Feb 6 12:55:10 system scsi: WARNING: /pci@1f,4000/scsi@3
(glm0):
Feb 6 12:55:10 system Disconnected command timeout for Target 2.0

I thought newer scsi would have downward compatibility. Should I use a different cable??

And Hardware pro's please teach me.... Thanks

Rob
